Darjeeling Second Flush Turzum Himalayan Mystic Loose Black Tea

Tips for Tea Connoisseurs

Turzum Tea Estate is perched in Darjeeling’s misty Rungbong Valley, near the popular lake town Mirik. The elevation ranging between 1100 and 1700m above sea level, Turzum Tea Estate is most of the time covered with mist and fog which allows the tea bush to grow slowly due to the limited sun exposure. Under the rigorous supervision of Mr. Anil Kr. Jha, the Superintendent, Turzum Tea Estate has emerged as one of the most celebrated tea gardens in Darjeeling that produces top quality Darjeeling black tea throughout the year.

Our Darjeeling Second Flush: Turzum Himalayan Mystic SFTGFOP1 is made from a clonal variety, which is well-known to produce spectacular Darjeeling black teas with rich and complex floral bouquets. Indeed, our Darjeeling Turzum Himalayan Mystic SFTGFOP1 stands out with its notable floral scents evocative of rose and linden flower. This elegant floral notes beautifully mingle with refreshing cedar wood, fruity (muscat, peach, apple) on warm, toasty background. In terms of mouthfeel, Darjeeling Second Flush: Turzum Himalayan Mystic SFTGFOP1 offers a great deal of roundness in the palate with a notably lower astringency than other Second Flush Darjeeling teas made from the classic sinensis hybrid variety.

This is a supreme example of a highly complex, splendid Darjeeling Second Flush Clonal. Probably one of the best second flush Darjeeling black teas that we have tasted this year.

While most Darjeeling black tea is sold as a blend under the generic name “Darjeeling”, the top quality Darjeeling teas are sourced directly from tea gardens and are not blended. Furthermore, the origin, along with their grade and sometimes additional information such as the main cultivar and batch number are indicated in the best Darjeeling teas, like in our Darjeeling collection.

Naturally grown without pesticide and chemical fertiliser. Certified IMO Organic.

Black tea is known to be just as beneficial as green tea for our health and well-being. A recent study indicates several health benefits of black tea by demonstrating that flavonoids found in black tea boost the immune system to prevent flu and other viral infection and encourage the growth of healthy microorganism in the liver to boost energy metabolism and weight loss.
