Darjeeling First Flush Turzum Clonal Flowery Loose Black Tea Aroma Profile

Tips for Tea Connoisseurs

Turzum Tea Estate is perched in Darjeeling’s misty Rungbong Valley, near the popular lake town Mirik. The elevation ranging between 1100 and 1700m above sea level, Turzum Tea Estate is most of the time covered with mist and fog, which allow the tea bush to grow slowly due to the limited sun exposure. Under the rigorous supervision of Mr. Anil Kr. Jha, the Superintendent, Turzum Tea Estate has recently emerged as one of the most celebrated tea gardens in Darjeeling that produces top quality Darjeeling black tea throughout the year.

Made from the tea leaves of a Clonal variety, known to produce fragrant Darjeeling black teas, our Darjeeling First Flush: Turzum Clonal Flowery SFTGFOP1 offers an aromatic liquor with delicate floral and fruity notes and on a toasted, nutty background, evocative of warm freshly baked bread and almonds. In comparison to our other First Flush Darjeeling, Castelton China Special FTGFOP1, which is made from the tea leaves of the Camellia sinensis var. sinensis (i.e. Chinese tea plant variety), Turzum Clonal Flowery SFTGFOP1, offers a lighter body with less astringency.

While most Darjeeling is sold as a blend under the generic name “Darjeeling”, the top quality Darjeeling teas are sourced directly from tea gardens and are not blended. Furthermore, the origin, along with their grade and sometimes additional information such as the main cultivar and batch number are indicated in the best Darjeeling teas, like in our Darjeeling collection.

Fragrant, delicate yet lively - our Darjeeling First Flush: Turzum Clonal Flowery SFTGFOP1 is a classic example of First Flush Clonal Darjeeling black tea. Try it also as a cold-brew, it makes a wonderfully refreshing infusion that may well be your all-time favourite in hot summer days.

Naturally grown without pesticide and chemical fertiliser. Certified IMO Organic.

Black tea is known to be just as beneficial as green tea for our health and well-being. A recent study indicates several health benefits of black tea by demonstrating that flavonoids found in black tea boost the immune system to prevent flu and other viral infection and encourage the growth of healthy microorganism in the liver to boost energy metabolism and weight loss.
