Tips for Tea Connoisseurs

Alishan Nectar is a fully oxidised black tea that offers a highly complex, rich, aromatic, and fragrant infusion full of chocolaty depth, dried raisin notes, and a lingering floral bouquet. It is an exceptionally complex, sublime, and delicious black tea. It is no surprise that the tea master won the top prize in the national black tea competition this year with this exact harvest. In comparison to other teas made from the Qing Xin cultivar—such as Traditional Roasted Dong Ding—our Alishan Nectar remains much more soothing and comforting, offering a distinctive, chocolaty note without any hint of heavy baking or roasting.
As with all true teas, black tea offers natural health benefits to increase our sense of well-being. Several studies indicate that black tea is a rich source of antioxidant polyphenols, and it may well be just as beneficial as green tea to promote weight loss and support cardiovascular health by helping to reduce high blood pressure and cholesterol.
For your information, Qing Xin—literally meaning "Green Heart" in Chinese—is one of the four main cultivars grown in Taiwan alongside Qing Xin Da Pan, Si Ji Chun, and Jin Xuan. Qing Xin is the most desired cultivar for high-mountain oolong teas in Taiwan and its unique profile is highly sought-after by tea connoisseurs. The legendary Taiwanese Dong Ding oolong tea is traditionally crafted from the Qing Xin cultivar as well.
