Tips for Tea Connoisseurs
Qing Xin, literally meaning "Green Heart" in Chinese, is one of the four main cultivars grown in Taiwan (i.e. Qing Xin, Qing Xin Da Pan, Si Ji Chun, Jin Xuan cultivars). Qing Xin is the most desired cultivar to make high mountain oolong teas in Taiwan and is a highly sought-after characteristic of high mountain oolong teas among tea connoisseurs. The legendary Taiwanese Dong Ding oolong tea is traditionally made from Qing Xin cultivar as well.
Our Alishan Qing Xin Jade Oolong Tea is made from hand-picked tender leaves grown in the high elevation of 1500m in Ali Mountain, Chiayi County, Taiwan, one of the most celebrated region for high mountain oolong teas. With its mineral rich soil and a cool, misty climate, Ali Mountain offers an ideal terroir for supreme quality high mountain oolong teas. As tea bushes grown in the high elevation are affected by the limited sun exposure and the cooler temperature in their habitat, the tea bush yields sweeter and tender leaves, as the leaves contain more amino acids but less catechin.
Our Qing Xin Jade Oolong, painstakingly rolled 40-50 times and meticulously roasted by our Tea Master, Mr. Wang, offers a highly aromatic and fragrant infusion, full of delicate sweet, creamy, floral bouquet, evocative of orchids and frangipani, on a lightly buttery, vanilla, biscuity background.
Alishan Qing Xin Jade will be a great companion for madeleine, financier, scone or victorian sponge cake during your afternoon tea break. But if you're on diet, don't worry - Alishan Qing Xin Jade, with its natural sweetness and biscuity flavour, may well help quench your craving for sugar.
An absolute must-add to your oolong tea repertoire. This exquisite, rare, high mountain Qing Xin Oolong Tea will lead your palate to another level of oolong tea appreciation.
As with all the teas, oolong tea also offers us health benefits to increase our sense of well-being. Several studies indicate that oolong tea is a rich source of antioxidant polyphenols and it may well be just as beneficial as green tea to promote weight loss and cardiovascular health by reducing high blood pressure and cholesterol.
