Tips for Tea Connoisseurs
The name Bi Luo Chun literally means "Green Snail Spring" in Chinese. According to a Qing Dynasty chronicle, it is the Emperor Kangxi who gave this name to this gracious spring green tea, as the tightly rolled spiral shape (Chinese Bi Luo Chun) reminded him of a snail.
Our Bi Luo Chun Sanxia Green Tea is the Taiwanese cousin of the continental Chinese Bi Luo Chun. The tea comes from Sanxia district, a renowned region for its ideal terroir for tea cultivation in Taiwan. It was one of the areas that many Chinese tea masters immigrated after Taiwan was returned from Japanese colonial government in 1945 and it is now well known for its fine green tea production such as Bi Luo Chun and Long Jing green tea.
It is a truly unique tea made of a rare cultivar called "Qing Xin Gan Zai" by employing the traditional Chinese method of making Bi Luo Chun. The noble characteristic of the cultivar, the unique terroir and the art of the tea making have been reflected in its highly elegant and graceful flavours and aromas. The liquor offers delicately sweet, floral and mild, delicate cooked vegetal notes.
An absolute must add to your green tea collection! We are confident that our Bi Luo Chun Sanxia will lead your palate to another level of green tea appreciation. Highly recommended to the lovers of Baozhong oolong tea as well.
