What You Need to Know

Our GYOKURO Matcha Powder comes from a certified organic tea garden that uses sustainable, environmental-friendly, solar energy for tea production in Shizuoka, Japan. For those who haven't been to Japan, Shizuoka is Japanese green tea capital where many celebrated Japanese tea gardens are located with a scenic view of the famous Mountain Fuji.

Unlike Matcha, which is made from matured Tencha leaves (i.e. base green tea material for matcha. After harvest in spring, tea leaves are cut, warm-air-dried and matured for a few months before stone-milled in autumn), Gyokuro Powder requires more processing, as the harvested tea leaves are first made into Gyokuro green tea, which requires the steaming process, and then stone-milled into fine powder. You can see how the steaming process adds more depth and richness to the body and flavour. When prepared into Usucha, this Gyokuro Matcha has such a refreshing, deep, grassy and long-lasting buttery finish.

Gyokuro Powder is packed into 1.5g sachet, which also makes this matcha easy to enjoy and convenient for our busy, mobile life style. To treat yourself with a daily, organically grown, antioxidant boost, all you need to do is to place 1 sachet of Gyokuro powder into 200 - 300ml room temperature/cold water and shake it well before drinking. It dissolves really easily with water while shaking, so you can prepare a refreshing matcha after your gym session or you can easily take this for your holiday without bringing the match tool kit with you.

We always very happy and excited to share our new discovery with you and we're confident that you will love this organically grown, refreshing, grassy and buttery, Gyokuro Matcha Powder. A must try for matcha connoisseurs.

A rare opportunity to try a top quality, rare, Gyokuro matcha sourced from an eco-friendly, sustainable tea farm in Shizuoka, Japan.

Tips for Tea Connoisseurs

For Matcha connoisseurs, we highly recommend trying to experience the difference of our top ceremonial grade single-estate, single-cultivar Matcha - Matcha Eroica, Matcha Okunoyama, Matcha Asahi and Matcha Samidori.

What is Matcha?

Matcha is a finely grounded powdered Japanese green tea, made from tea leaves shade-grown for 3-6 weeks before the harvest. Due to the limited exposure to the sunshine, tea plants go through a chain of physiological changes in order to survive, which, in turn, results in the changes of the chemical composition of the tea leaves. Produced this way, Matcha tea is extremely rich in antioxidants and L-theanine.
