Tips for Tea Connoisseurs

Wuyi Mountain Heavenly Fragrance (aka. Tong Tian Xiang) is a highly aromatic, complex rock oolong tea, originating from Wuyi Mountain, Fujian Province. Made from carefully, hand-picked, spring tea leaves of Tong Tian Xiang tea cultivar, a rock oolong tea varietal from Wuyi Mountain, known for highly fragrant aroma and prominent, floral and fruity notes, tea leaves were masterfully crafted going through carefully-monitored, sun-withering, medium-degree oxidation and low-heat, charcoal roasting over a month period.

When brewed, the liquor offers a rich, complex flavour, evolving around firewood, creamy tuberose, nectarine, forest berries and mineral notes. The orchestra of the different flavour notes is so fine and elegant, while the liquor tastes thick, creamy and velvety. We highly recommend brewing this tea through Gong Fu cha to see the full potential and complexity of this robust, yet, very fine rock oolong tea.

If you're a lover of our Big Red Robe (aka. Da Hong Pao), the legendary Chinese oolong tea from Wuyi mountain or Nine Dragon Robe, this tea is a must-try.

Due to its very special terroir of Wuyi mountain, oolong teas in this region is also known as a "Rock Tea", because the rocky soil of Wuyi mountain nourishes the tea bushes hence one can note distinctive minerality in the tea.

As with all the teas, oolong tea also offers us health benefits to increase our sense of well-being. Several studies indicate that oolong tea is a rich source of antioxidant polyphenols and it may well be just as beneficial as green tea to promote weight loss and cardiovascular health by reducing high blood pressure and cholesterol.
