Classical Oriental Beauty Loose Oolong Tea

Tips for Tea Connoisseurs

Unlike most of high quality Taiwanese oolong teas, which are harvested in spring or winter, Classical Oriental Beauty is made from summer harvest, tea leaves picked in June and July. During the hot and humid summer period, tea leaves are allowed to be bitten by small leafhoppers known as "green fly". The insect bite then upsets and changes the chemical composition of the leaf, which in turn leads to the development of the distinctive fruity-floral-honey flavour of Oriental Beauty. Hence, Oriental Beauty is, by definition, an ultimate ecological tea.

In Taiwan, Miaoli and Emei are the two most celebrated districts for the best quality Oriental Beauty and our Classical Oriental Beauty comes from Miaoli Township, Hsinchu County in Taiwan.

As fussy drinkers of Oriental Beauty ourselves, we are very happy to introduce this classical Oriental Beauty in our Taiwanese oolong tea collection. This Classical Oriental Beauty has all the desired characteristics that you can expect from a competition grade Oriental Beauty at a fraction of the cost. Once you try, you will be truly delighted by a delightful orchestra of opulent floral (rose), honey and fruity (peach, lychee) notes. A hint of rosewood and cinnamon in the finish adds elegance to this exquisite oolong tea. No wonder that Queen Elizabeth II was so captivated by the glamour of this tea and named it as "Oriental Beauty"!

Either you are a tea connoisseur who has tasted various competition grade Oriental Beauty teas before or a tea enthusiast who would like to try Oriental Beauty tea as a part of your oolong tea repertoire, we are confident that this Classical Oriental Beauty will offer you an unforgettable Oriental Beauty oolong tea experience.

Highly recommended to lovers of fine Darjeeling as well.

As with all the teas, oolong tea also offers us health benefits to increase our sense of well-being. Several studies indicate that oolong tea is a rich source of antioxidant polyphenols and it may well be just as beneficial as green tea to promote weight loss and cardiovascular health by reducing high blood pressure and cholesterol.
