Tips for Tea Connoisseurs
Lakyrsiew Mazeppa is our new Indian tea masterpiece, hailing from a family-run, tea garden in Shillong, northern India. Made from entirely hand-picked, hand-rolled, elite Darjeeling cultivars, AV2 and Bannockburn 157, this magnificent black tea will guide you through an intense drama of love, passion and suffering, just like Liszt's symphonic poem, Transcendental Etudes No.4 Mazeppa.
Naturally grown without pesticide and chemical fertiliser.
Lakyrsiew Tea Garden is situated at an elevation of between 1000 and 1300m above the sea level. The garden has an ideal tea terroir to produce supreme quality, Darjeeling style black tea, as the garden benefits from its own clean, sweet, spring water and receives a good amount of rains during the monsoon season. The natural mists of the adjacent Lake Umiam provide good natural shades to elite Darjeeling cultivars grown in the garden while protecting the garden from drought during the dry season.
Black tea is known to be just as beneficial as green tea for our health and well-being. A recent study indicates several health benefits of black tea by demonstrating that flavonoids found in black tea boost the immune system to prevent flu and other viral infection and encourage the growth of healthy microorganism in the liver to boost energy metabolism and weight loss.
