Tips for Tea Connoisseurs

Our Woojeon Spring Dew is a really delicate and gentle, very first flush, spring green tea from Hwagae village, Jiri Mountain, Hadong in South Korea, made from entirely hand-picked, hand-crafted, wild bush tea leaves naturally grown on the slope of Jiri Mountain, one of the most famous tea plantations in South Korea.

After receiving so much appreciation and compliments from our customers for our top quality, hand-picked, hand-made, Korean teas, we've now decided to extend our Korean tea offerings in our tea selection. In comparison to our Korean green teas coming from Ackyang village such as Woojeon Spring Waltz Hadong AckyangSejak Tendresse (Great Taste 3 Star Winner), Wild Arbor Joongjak (Great Taste 1 Star Winner), teas originating from Hwagae village are toastier with more pronounced nutty, chestnut flavour.

Please note that our Korean teas from Hadong region are made from naturally grown wild tea bushes which yield a delicious, long, sustained, very fine, fruity finish that you also find in some oolongs and puerh sheng teas made from ancient Gushu tea trees. With Wild Arbor Joongjak, you will notice a slight hint of citrusy-fruity note in the finish, which leaves a refreshing sensation on the palate.

In South Korea, there are three main tea producing regions - Boseong, Hadong and Jeju Island. While tea gardens located in Jeju Island mostly produce industrialised, mechanised green teas, small scale tea gardens around Hadong area continue to produce top quality, traditional, hand-made green and black teas from wild tea bushes naturally grown in the region. While you may often encounter Korean green teas from Jeju Island abroad, top quality, authentic, wild bush Woojeon green tea from Hadong is not easily available in the markets outside South Korea due to limited production. Our Woojeon Spring Dew offers a rare opportunity to green tea connoisseurs to try real, authentic, entirely hand-made, first flush, Woojeon green tea from South Korea.

Korean green tea is graded according to the date of harvest and the maturity of buds and leaves: Woojeon/Ujeon (First Pluck), Sejak (Second Pluck), Joongjak/Jungjak (Third Pluck) and Daejak (Fourth Pluck). Each grade comes up with their unique flavour and Woojeon, literally meaning, "Before Rain", is only made from one tender bud and two newly opened hand-picked leaves of mid April and highly praised for its delicate, subtle nutty sweetness.

When brewed, Woojeon Spring Dew offers a wonderfully gentle, sweet, umami liquor filled with sweet chestnut toasty flavour and subtle peach note, which evokes the flavour of top quality, finest Long Jing Dragon Well green tea.

An authentic, rare Woojeon green tea from scenic Jiri Mountain that will bring gentle spring breeze to your tea moment. As a rich source of vitamin C, catechin and amino acid, Woojeon Spring Dew will not only soothe your mind, but will also nourish your body.
